Plot & Summary
A slightly different version of the tale of Sleeping Beauty. It begins when in the forest near kingdom called the Moors, lives enchanted beings. One of them is a fairy named Maleficent who is kind and cares for all in the Moors. One day a human named Stefan enters the Moors. He is full of avarice and steals something. He is caught Maleficent helps him. He would spend a lot of time with her and they would grow close. One day he stops coming cause he sets to make his fortune. And later the King tries to attack the Moors but Maleficent stops him humiliating. He then offers his daughter and his kingdom to who can do away with Maleficent. And Stefan is one of his people. He goes and seeks Maleficent but can't kill her. Instead he takes her wings and gives them to the King. The King as promised gives him his daughter's hand and after the King passes away, Stefan is the new King. Maleficent would eventually learn of his marriage and later his wife gives birth to a daughter they name Aurora. When everyone in the Kingdom goes to pay their respects, Maleficent shows up and her gift to the princess is that on her 16th birthday she will prick her finger on the needle of a spindle and will fall into a death like sleep and can only be awaken by true love's kiss. The King would entrust Aurora to three pixies and they would assume human form and raise her in the forest; keeping her out of sight from Maleficent. But Maleficent would learn where Aurora is and would keep her from harm because she wants her to live long enough for the curse to be fulfilled. Aurora would grow and would think Maleficent is her fairy god mother, and they would bond.
Development of Maleficent (Angelina Jolie)
At the start of the film Maleficent starts of as a young girl with wings, she takes responsibility of the Moors and protects all the creatures there. You can instantly see she was a girl you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of for example when the little boy steals a piece of the moor she is fair but stern with him. Eventually she and the boy become best friends, you see her guard going to down and her falling in love. When she gets older she displays strength and power but it's when the man she fell in love betrays her for selfish reasons that her power becomes something to be feared by all.

Make Up, Hair and styling
As you can see a lot of prosthetics was used in the film when I was researching the makeup/prognostics. Jolie contacted special effects makeup master Rick Baker and her personal makeup artist Toni G to create the hyper-chiseled cheekbones for Maleficent. Arjen Tuiten then worked with Baker and Toni G to make the actual prosthetics. He also did the daily work of applying them to her face.
The Costumes was created by Rob Goodwin, a shoe designer and leather worker, was brought on later in the movie-making process to add “sharper edges” to the costumes. “The danger is with characters like Maleficent, you can slip into something that’s fetish-y and I didn’t want that. I don’t find that interesting – it’s a bit pedestrian,” Goodwin said. “You want to make something more elegant and savage. That’s how I approached it. We tried to make her both brutal and couture.” The facial prosthetics and horns “nudged” him and his fellow designers Manuel Albarran and Justin Smith to create wardrobe pieces that were more angular. You’ll see exaggerated shoulders and collars on all her various outfits as a result, including one inspired by the shape of a pelvic bone. “With Angelina you can get away with making things more masculine because she’s so beautiful. She can counter it,” Goodwin said.
